Will my artwork look the same as the online version?

  • The artwork will look better in person than online.
  • Images on computer screens are backlit, whereas the tangible pieces reflect light.
  • Size and paper quality also allows you to perceive a larger color spectrum and greater detail. So, there is a difference, but it is for the better.

Will the artwork be framed when I receive it?

  • Almost all of the work available on OAC Gallery is unframed. If a piece of art is framed, it will say so in the description next to the price.

What is a Certificate of Authenticity?

  • Every piece of work sold through OAC Gallery is mailed with a Certificate of Authenticity.
  • This document contains details about the work, including the artist’s signature.
  • If you do not receive a certificate with your purchase, please contact OAC Gallery at [email protected]

Who holds the copyright to the piece once I purchase it?

  • The artist retains copyright to their imagery.
  • Copyright law states that copyright does not transfer to art buyers. Therefore, you will not be allowed to reproduce the imagery without permission from the artist.

What does it mean when art is made in editions?

  • Certain pieces of art—mostly photography and printmaking—are labeled as either “limited edition” or “open edition.”
  • Limited edition pieces are produced in a set limited quantity.
  • Open edition artworks are not limited in quantity.
  • In both cases, each piece in the edition is considered an original.
  • Limited edition works are generally more valuable because of the limited number available.

What happens if my work is damaged during shipping?

  • In the rare case of damage, OAC® works directly with the shipping carrier to file a claim.
  • You must email [email protected] within 10-days of receiving the item. Include your order number and photographs of the damaged artwork and packaging. We must receive images of the packaging to file a claim and process the refund.

What is OAC’s return policy?

  • From the time you receive your purchase, you have 10 days to return it. This allows you time to try out the work in your home. If it is shipped back within the 10-day period, OAC® will provide a full refund and pay for return shipping.

How do I return a piece of art?

  • When you first receive the purchase, save its original packaging.
  • Repackage the art in its original box and email the gallery at [email protected] with your order number, name, address and phone number and we will email you a return-shipping label.
  • You must ship the item back within the 10-day return period. Once OAC processes the return, we will issue a full refund.
  • Art (including photographs and prints) that is returned wrinkled, dented, or smudged due to mishandling within that 10-day period will not be refunded.

Do you ship internationally?

  • Yes but OAC® Gallery does not pay for shipping outside of the United States and it is subject to duties, taxes and/or fees. Please consult your local customs office for more details about duties and taxes.
