Best advice you’ve been given • Never wait for inspiration. When working on a painting let the painting “talk” to you. You give to it, and it will give back to you. Allow for the unexpected, accidental and surprising to occur.
Goals/Aspirations • I’m focused on the next show – a solo exhibit of my abstract paintings.
Favorite artist • Henri Matisse. I like the way he created compositions in space with interesting shapes and color.
What are you reading • The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History by Elizabeth Kolbert.
Hope to learn how to • Fly an airplane.
You spend a lot of time thinking about • Science: astronomy and physics are two favorite subjects.
Favorite musical artist • I like latin music. Mango Santamaria, Poncho Sanchez.
What do you do when not creating art • Waiting for the paint to dry.
